Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

When I’m at one of these sites, I can’t help thinking that I could be treading on something special, maybe the last one in the country, and I wonder...

Does it matter?

Would anyone know?

Would anyone care?

The above is taken from my notebook after visiting an SSSI, it sums up what I feel about these special places, places that only seem special to the people who have the power and knowledge to decided on our behalf, without consent or opinion, or even the need to inform, that they are special.
